I'm primarily a CC-BY(-NC) artist of coarse photomanipulated backgrounds that has but somewhat recently stumbled upon his own style.

I'm also finding myself very interested in macro and cloud photography, APNG animation, and am currently plotting a universe around Brassica Fa.

I'm learning how to specialize in The GIMP, an Open Source alternative to Adobe Photoshop through trial, error, and patience.

My working resolution is at 1024x768. "Why so low?", one might ask. 'Tis the maximum LCD resolution of my laptop. :)
I usually draw the general form at 33.3% zoom and the details at 100-200%.

I have a hint of Blue-Yellow colorblindness, so my creations might be a touch off in colour. :P


If one desires to use a CC piece of mine outside of the license's fair use restrictions, do ask! I'm quite flexible. :-)

I utterly fell in love with a piece today.

Today at work, I was able to assist preparing for transportation the original of Salvadore Dalí's Bullfight No 2 [Link] from his series, Tauromachie de Dali.

As it was without the frame, I was able to experience it within mm's distance, and to say that it is a good piece is the utter definition of the phrase for something to be the understatement of the century.  The image that I linked to gives an idea as to what it looks like, but the way that each stroke of emotion showed as to just how INTENSE the dance of the matador and the bull was!  Each swoosh of the brush left behind ridges of intent as to what was going on down to the extreme detail.

As I was looking to find the title of the piece later on in the afternoon, the memory of the sheer emotion behind the piece caused me to start weeping in joy at the remembering of it.  I'm certain that earlier today will be the most awesome moment of this year.  It's very likely but only a few notches from overtaking the joy that I experienced at seeing my father come back from deployment without a doubt.

To be honest, this is the closest that I'll ever be to a dance of the bullfight outside actually partaking in it myself.  I can truly understand as to why one can go to war over art now as well...

I would be very willing to do nearly anything to see more of his pieces in the same manner as I did this one.
